3-6 Month Transitional Employment & Training Program

Thank you for your interest in the Eden Cafe Employment & Training Program.

Each candidate applying is required to send in their resume with a cover letter and go through at least one interview. Once hired the candidate is considered a Coastal Church employee. Employees will be asked to abide by Coastal Church’s employee handbook as provided by Coastal Church Human Resources.

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

What would be my responsibilities?

  • The kitchen staff organize the kitchen and do food prep to streamline cooking and meal presentation, including washing, peeling and cutting vegetables; mixing ingredients for dishes; and cutting and seasoning meats.

  • The kitchen staff have a working knowledge of the day’s meals and menus and understand what each dish calls for before delivery.

  • The kitchen staff works with management/head cook to receive, stack, and properly store food in the kitchen, fridge/freezer, and storeroom. They transfer food and supplies to the kitchen as needed.

  • The kitchen staff is responsible for ensuring all areas of the kitchen, food prep, and food storage areas are clean and properly sanitized. This includes washing dishes and cooking equipment, cleaning floors, sanitizing countertops and cutting boards, and maintaining all areas to health code standards.

  • Friendly and professional encounter with customers and other staff members

  • Barista Level 1 & 2 (Organized by Eden Cafe through Caffe Umbria)
