COVID-19 Response

During this season, Coastal Eden Cafe is used as a central hub to prepare baked goods and meals for community programs.

When is the eden cafe open?

Eden Cafe is open for in-person dine-in and we are making sure to implement mask use and proper cleaning and disinfection routine for high-touch surfaces to keep our patrons and staff safe.

During this season of uncertainty and social isolation, Coastal Eden Cafe has been used as a central hub to prepare and distribute meals and baked goods for vulnerable individuals.

How has Eden Cafe served the Community during this season?

  • We have cooked over 1400 nutritious meals and counting at Eden Cafe for Single Room Occupancy residents in Downtown Eastside in partnership with Vancouver Community College.

  • Provided groceries for families who are struggling financially due to the outbreak.

  • Walked the streets of the Downtown Eastside in partnership with our friends from Jacob’s Well, reaching out to our most vulnerable neighbors with snacks and COVID-19 pamphlets, but more importantly, with a listening ear, with prayers and with the Gospel of Jesus.

  • Made and delivered fresh baked goods for kids and families staying at Ronald McDonald House BC.

  • Provided space for Whole Way House at Eden Cafe to assemble meals for vulnerable seniors and residents in Downtown Eastside.
  • Provided a safe space for community members to appropriately gather and connect outside of their homes during the various restrictions.
