Transitional Employment Training Program

3-6 Month Short-Term Employment Opportunity

Thank you for your interest in the Eden Cafe Limited Short-Term Training Program.

Each candidate applying is required to send in their resume with a cover letter and go through at least one interview. Once hired the candidate is considered a Coastal Church employee. Employees will be asked to abide by Coastal Church’s employee handbook as provided by Coastal Church Human Resources.

Job Responsibilities & Expectations

My responsibilities Could Include:

Organize kitchen and food prep to streamline cooking and meal presentation, includes washing, peeling and cutting vegetables; mixing ingredients for dishes; and cutting and seasoning meats.
Learn a working knowledge of the day’s meals and menus and understand what each dish calls for before delivery.
Work with management/head cook to receive, stack, and properly store food in the kitchen, fridge/freezer, and storeroom. Transfer food and supplies to the kitchen as needed.
Responsible for ensuring all areas of the kitchen, food prep, and food storage areas are clean and properly sanitized. Includes washing dishes and cooking equipment, cleaning floors, sanitizing countertops and cutting boards, and maintaining all areas to health code standards.
Maintaining a friendly and professional encounter with customers and staff.

Education & Learning opportunities May Include:

Foodsafe Level 1 (Organized by Eden Cafe through FoodSafe)
Barista Level 1 & 2 (Organized by Eden Cafe through Caffe Umbria)
Biblical spiritual direction, mentoring and leadership training
